Board purchase tips needed

Thank you both very much for your help.

I will definitely start considering the freeride board as you suggested, and delve a bit deeper into it.

Some more details about me: I'm 40, 1,76m, 65kg. I am in a good physical condition.
I rode mostly here on the Croatian coast - Istria and Pelješac. Mostly bora wind, up to 25 knots (up to 30 .. with gusts), almost
always on choppy conditions. There is also a good spot in Rovinj for the southern wind, also quite choppy conditions.
We don't have that much days of wind in the summer, which is when the windsurfing center is open, so had limited possibilities.
Pre season and post season the conditions are better, so I hope now that I will have my own gear, will be able to be on the
water much more.

Re: the Fanatic Shark - it also seemed to me that for being a board from 2014 it was quite pricey. Fabio, you only
confirmed my doubts. Will se if something can be negotiated.

I am going to check the articles from the links and if I have more questions, I will feel free to ask.

Hi Klaudija.

Freemove is a wide group of boards, which basically have all in common the ability to jibe/carve easily. Some of them (also referred to as Freestylewave - allround boards) are also good for bump and jump sessions (i.e. sessions in choppy, or small waves conditions).
They include quite different kinds of boards, ranging from the Tabou 3S, a typical bump and jump oriented board, to the Jp Magic Ride, Fanatic Gecko, RRD freemove, which are more freeride like boards, but less long and wider shaped, and less fast than freeride boards, and not at all at ease among chops or waves.

As a beginner, if you want to consider freemove boards, I would suggest to stay on boards like JP Magic Ride, RRD freemove, etc, which are simpler to handle, and much easier to make get planing, than allround/bump and jump boards.

Or, you can directly opt for freeride classical boards, which are the typical step for people who are learning to get and keep planing as you.

Brienno is right. The boards you spoke about are classical freeride boards. The Fanatic Shark is a good choice, but according to me 450 euros for a 2014, not carbon board, are too many. The right price would be 350 euros. It's up to you how to deal with the seller. Maybe, you could get an agreement at 400 euros.
I don't know the AHD.
As Brienno told, if you provide further details about you, with could give you other tips.

Hi,
Both the AHD Fast Forward and the Fanatic Shark (in your attachment), are not freemove boards, but rather classic freeride boards. That’s not bad news, as I personally prefer the latter kind to the former.
Nevertheless, they seem quite big for a woman.
We could be of more help if you told us your age, weight, physical condition and most usual place of use for the aforementioned boards.

Hello to all,

Hope you are all good.

I am in the process of buying my first gear, so I need some expert's advice.

My level is - just started planing last summer!
(And it happened to be my last session!!!So can you immagine how hard has been the wait to go back in the water!!)

Anyway, the board I was riding was 135, can't remember the model.
So, I am looking for a second hand board in the range from 130-135.
I have read that I should look for the freemove boards.

The owner of the spot close to my town has an AHD fast forward 130 to sell.

And I also found the one that I attached.


I wanted to ask you whether in your opinion the range from 130-135 is a good idea? And also if the freemove boards are the right ones?
What can you tell me about the AHD fast forward?
And about the one attached? It seems pretty good shape, no? It says that it has never been damaged and that it has only a few surface scratches.

So this is all that I have for now.

All help will be much appreciated.
