1976, Flat Island, Kailua Bay, Oahu, Hawaii.  Original windsurfer... footstraps not invented yet, but still able to jump and get the fin out of the water.  Wooden booms with harness lines - sporting my very first harness that my dad Rick sewed for me on my moms sewing machine.  (although harnesses would still not be legal in windsurfing competition for three more years… Yes, we course raced with no harness !) He also sewed the nice big windows into my sail.  This Steve Wilkings picture really showed where the sport of windsurfing was at the time and even more so where it was headed in the future!
