Mayo Mayhem, 2023 - Ireland was created by ita4012
Let’s Do This. It’s time to get ready for “A Party Now “as Mayo Mayhem and the Battle for the Lake Watersports and Music festival Is On!!!!!!!
This year it will be all-out war at Mayo Mayhem as there is so much to battle for . This year Riders are competing for the coveted Mayo Mayhem title along with IWA, IWT and PWA points. It’s time to find out who has improved their Windsurfing, Surfing, SUPing , Dancing and Partying skills over the last year .
For more information check out www.mayomayhem.ie
This year event will take place on Achill Island between September 29th to October 1st (This is a 3 day event). This is the same weekend as the "Battle for the Lake Waterpsorts and Music festival" www.battleforthelake.com .  If there are no contestable conditions then we will roll over to the following weekend of October 7th and 8th
We have 3 fleets, Gold ,Silver and Womens. We hope to have two days of competition and one day free to do an expression  / instruction session.
The event headquarters is based at Keel Achill Island with the option to compete on any one of Mayo's finest beaches from Louisburg to Belmullet. We will choose the best location that can provide the best wave sailing conditions on the day. With such a variety of epic beaches to choose from, there is a strong possibility of competing in both Port and Starboard conditions over the weekend.
The fee for Mayo Mayhem €50 (Student €40) for a one day of competition or if there is two days of competition it is €80 (Student €70) This Does Not Include tickets for Battle for the Lake these can be purchased from www.battleforthelake.com
When signing up we charge € 50 for a one day of competition. If conditions allow us to run a second day of competition then an additional €30 for the second will be collected at the briefing on the first day.
To book your place just click on this link www.mayomayhem.ie/register
Both Gold and Silver fleet are limited to 24 competitors so book early to secure your place. Last year this event sold out.  The Women’s fleet compete in either of the Gold and Silver fleet with the winner determined based on highest place rankings and or a dedicated women’s fleet heat (Details TBC at the event)
ALL COMPETITORS MUST BE A CURRENT MEMBER OF THE IRISH WINDSURFING ASSOCIATION or have written proof of insurance. Applicants without proof cannot compete.
Without the support of the IWA this event might not be possible. We ask that you help support the IWA in return by becoming a member. Membership of the IWA gives you third party Insurance cover of up to €6.5 Million. For other benefits of Membership click here; www.windsurfing.ie/why-join-the-iwa.html
1st time competitors
First time competitors are very welcome to this event. If you ever thought about competing but just haven’t taken that leap then this is the event for you. If you can water start, gybe (sometimes) and get the odd jump in, then you are well capable of signing up for this event.
We will have lots of experienced competitors available to mentor first timers on the day of competition and available for any advice over the weekend.
Non Competitors
We would also like to encourage all those windsurfers who don’t want to compete to come along and enjoy a weekend of windsurfing and get inspired. Come and get out on the water or cheer on those who are competing. There should be plenty of space on the beach for free sailing too. All are welcome. There is no better or fun way to improve your sailing then by competing.
