But if I was you I'd buy the same a cheap anti aggression sound alert (10€), useful for rare sharks in the water but more for human sharks in the streets, they say much less rare there...

Thanks, Nakaniko.
After reading my Lonely Planet Guide, I understood that I have to be more worried about the way of driving in South Africa, than about shark attacks.
No Shark attacks happened, on Atlantic Ocean spots, so far.... 10.000 deaths per year for road accident....
But, the motto must be: think positive....
Hang loose

About Sharkbanz I see different opinions and tests on the web. The fact that is a passive-no battery device makes me doubtful. See
www.theinertia.com/surf/after-attack-on-...of-shark-repellents/
And I remember a strange attempt I've made by myself about twenty years ago, when I went to safaga in Egypt, I decided to buy and wear an anti-aggression watch who has a siren-button leading to a 100 db sound. This because in the water sound has more speed than in the air and so I supposed in case of seeing a shark I would have put the watch in the water (not kept outside) and activete the siren. Unfortunately the even pricy watch from a major brand was waterproof but not windsurf proof and after some falls water leaked inside it, so no proof of using it. But now I see there are cheap and maybe waterproof devices that could be useful, with even 130 db sound, that I suppose would give strong alert to every kind of animal...
Btw I've never had such encounters, even if I have to admit that after seeing in Norre Vorupør, south of Klitmøller DK the acquarium of local fishes with small but very active sharks, the day after my waterstarts outside in the North See were so quick and perfect...
My two cents.

Hi Fabio,
for the wetsuit is sufficient an 4/3, max 5/3 mm, a six millimeters will be too hot, considering the difference between air and water.
About the sails I would suggest 3,7, it will be more probable that you’ll need it respect a 5,3.

I am going to spend a windsurfing holiday in South Africa next January (2019).
I would like to know:
1) Which kind of wetsuit would you suggest to take with me? a 6/5/4 mm, a 5/3 mm, or a 4/3 mm? Air temperature will be about 25-30 °C, water temperature, as far as I know, should be about 14-15 °C.
2) If I manage to put three sails in my bag, considering that I would not ride with extreme conditions, which sails should I take with me? Surely, 4.2 and 4.7; but should I add a 3.7 or a 5.3? Consider that I will use a Fanatic Quad 87, as only board.
3) Do you think that it makes sense to buy a shark deterrent like this ? I will ride only in Atlantic Ocean Western Cape spots.
Thanks. Fabio
