Windsurfing, spot review: Funtana Meiga (Sardinia)
(Podcast available, for Supporters users, in the central part of the article)
The spot is about 20 minutes drive from Oristano. From Oristano, you need to reach the district road SP6, to ignore the signs for Torre Grande, head for San Giovanni Sinis, until you turn getting the road to Funtana Meiga (see map at the end of the article).
At the end of this road, you arrive at Funtana Meiga (a small village) waterfront, then you turn north, and shortly after the road becomes dirt, you turn to your left going down to a dirt parking area. Alternatively, if this area is already full, you can continue along the dirt road, and turn left after a group of houses, about 100 meters after the first parking lot (see map). The environment is pleasantly wild, and often on the spot windsurfers, even foreigners, stop here to sleep overnight, with thier camper vans, so you breathe a very "on the road" atmosphere.
